Dock shelters
The most popular dock shelter in common use today is the retractable dock shelter.
It’s designed to recoil on impact to minimise the damage, caused by misaligned or poorly parked trailers.
Retractable dock shelters offer the following benefits:
- Suitable for a wide variation in vehicle sizes
- Will fit around most common doorways - Standard and non-standard sizes
- Retracts when struck
- Reduces heat loss from the building
- Protects loading bay personnel from external weather conditions
- Available in dock height or ground level configurations
- Manufactured in the UK
Dock shelters consist of galvanised steel tube box section frames with either 30mm x 30mm or 30mm x 60mm galvanised steel box section. With cantilever arms bolted to the front and back, side beams and pivoted at each end to allow the shelters to retract against the building in the event of vehicle impact.
The side and roof frames are clad in a 600gm/m2 flexible PVC/polyester.
Two vertical sides and one horizontal head curtain are manufactured from 3.5mm thick PVC/polyester and seal against the top and sides of a vehicle body.
The PVC derco material can withstand high winds and is tear resistance.
